The FRESHFARM Food Hub sources from a network of 48 small and mid-sized farms stretching across the Mid-Atlantic — from the Shenandoah Valley to the Eastern Shore to the hills of Pennsylvania — all within 200 miles of Washington, DC. These are working farms run by real people: multigenerational family operations, first-generation growers, and farmers who have overcome significant barriers to bring their food to market. Twenty percent of the farmers in our network identify as farmers of color, reflecting our commitment to building a more equitable local food system. Together, they grow the seasonal produce that makes the Food Hub’s work possible — and they’re the reason it’s worth doing.
