The FRESHFARM Farm Stand program creates new pathways for fresh, locally grown food to reach neighborhoods where access is limited. While traditional farmers markets host multiple growers and producers, each farm stand focuses primarily on fruits and vegetables and sources produce through flexible partnerships to meet community needs.

Farm Stand & Friends

We host a monthly pop-up series at three of our farm stands: Anacostia Community Museum, Cesar Chavez, and Minnesota Ave. During the final week of the month, June through November, we invite additional food producers, local businesses, community organizations, and performers to join us for a farm stand expansion. These events transform farm stands into welcoming community destinations and strengthen neighborhood connections. If you are a local food producer who is interested in reaching new customers and expanding your local footprint, please fill out an interest form! We consider inquiries on a rolling basis, so please apply ASAP.

Food Access Programs

FRESHFARM believes that fair, equitable access to healthy foods is vital to nourishing a sustainable food future. Our food access programs connect underserved communities with local foods grown by regional farmers, ensuring that fresh and local foods are accessible to all, regardless of income or background, while amplifying growers’ vital role in improving food security in our region. Our Farm Stands accept and offer a dollar-for-dollar match on SNAP/EBT and Senior & WIC FMNP benefits as well as administer Produce Plus, meaning shoppers can enroll in the program, pick up their cards, and spend their benefits on produce.
