Volunteer Opportunity – Fresh Food Drive
This holiday season, help our market food recovery partners feed those in need! Since 2010, FRESHFARM has hosted the Thanksgiving Fresh Food Drives at our markets. Throughout November, we raise money from shoppers and community members to purchase fresh fruits, vegetables, and turkeys from our local farmers at market. This fresh market food is then given to a food recovery or emergency food assistance partner at each market and used to prepare Thanksgiving baskets or meals for neighbors in need.
We are in need of Fresh Food Drive Volunteers! Volunteers will help set up and break down the apple cider station, hand out samples of warm apple cider, and, encourage donations. The Fresh Food Drive will take place at select FRESHFARM Markets and Farm Stands that are open in November. This is our largest volunteer event of the year, and it is a great way to get involved with FRESHFARM and our mission.
Fill out the Markets Volunteer Interest Form below to receive the sign-up form! Shifts are available at multiple locations on Tuesday afternoons, Wednesday afternoons, Saturday mornings, and Sunday mornings from November 3rd to November 22nd. Please note that volunteering at markets involves working outdoors in the elements, some heavy lifting, friendly customer service, and representing FRESHFARM to the community. Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older.
Volunteer with FoodPrints
FoodPrints’ hands-on cooking, gardening, and environmental literacy lessons generally need helpers during the school day. Ideal volunteers can commit to coming every week for a 3-4-hour block.
