FRESHFARM Employment Positions

FoodPrints Lead Early Childhood Teacher

The FoodPrints Lead Early Childhood Teacher will teach FoodPrints classes at one FoodPrints partner early childhood elementary school as well as lead food education and community engagement programming at one or two early childhood education centers in DC. This individual is responsible for classroom management, lesson planning, and program implementation utilizing our grow-cook-eat-learn model in classrooms, kitchen classrooms, and gardens in DC public elementary schools and community-based early childhood education centers. This individual reports to a FoodPrints Instructional Coach; takes direction from and collaborates with the ECE Program Manager; and is an active part of a collaborative team of teachers working across the city in FoodPrints partner schools.

Successful candidates will have 2+ years experience working with young children, ages 6 months through 5 years, in educational settings; demonstrated working knowledge of early childhood education practices; experience working in garden and food education-related fields, including environmental education, place-based education, science, or outdoor learning; and have strong classroom management and organizational skills.

Please note, these are NOT FRESHFARM positions; you would be hired directly by the vendor. Please direct all questions regarding these positions to the vendors themselves.

 

Chinese Street Food – Farmers Market Staff

Chinese Street Food seeks a logistics team member(s) for drop-offs or pick-ups, inventory reports, and packing & organizing inventories at weekend-only farmers markets in Washington, DC year-round. The roll will include
occasional special events inventory, drop-offs and pick-ups in DMV; and occasional online order
drop-offs in DC. This part-time job is about 15 hours a week. Most duties happen during the
weekends. Special events and online order delivery hours are not included in those 15 hours.
But we will give you enough notice to check your availability. You will be paid hourly at $23/hour. Pay weekly on Fridays. Payment will be a paycheck or direct deposit. This is a W2 position. Interested parties should see this job description and email chinesestreetmarketdc@gmail.com to apply.

Midas Touch Coffee – Farmers Market Staff

Midas Touch Coffee seeks a farmers market assistant to help present and sell specialty coffees. Schedule: Every other Thursday, from 2:30–7:30pm. Location: FRESHFARM Ballston Market (Arlington, VA).
