FRESHFARM Positions

FoodPrints Assistants (Internship or Work-Study Students)
Interested in growing your food education skills? FoodPrints is looking for interns and Federal Work Study students to join our program as Classroom Assistants! FoodPrints Classroom Assistants will support preschool – 5th grade food and garden education classes for the Fall Semester, and the role can be extended through the Spring Semester (ending June 2022) if there is mutual interest. Applications submitted by October 30th will be reviewed with priority; applications may be accepted on a rolling basis after that deadline, pending program needs. Note: federal work-study option is only available to AU and GW students.

Community Food Educator (2021 School Year)
Are you looking for an impactful part-time job where you can uplift and empower community members by increasing access to food education? Are you eager to learn, eager to teach, and love connecting with others? If yes, then being a Community Food Educator (CFE) at FRESHFARM is for you! CFEs will join the diverse and collaborative FoodPrints team that is passionate about food education, meaningful community engagement, and equitable practices. This part-time role is responsible for helping to enhance community knowledge about fresh and local produce while generating excitement through communication and direct education!

2022-2023 School Year: FoodPrints Lead, Assistant, & Bilingual Teachers (full & part-time)
Do you love being outdoors, cooking, and working with kids? If your answer is yes, then FoodPrints is for you! FoodPrints is FRESHFARM’s food education program that aims to make positive changes in what children and their families eat by giving them hands-on experiences with growing, harvesting, cooking, and eating nutritious, fresh, and seasonal local foods. We are seeking part- and full-time Lead, Assistant, and Billingual Teachers to join our dynamic and supportive teaching team for the next school year. All FoodPrints educators work in partnership with administrators and teachers to ensure that FoodPrints is relevant enriching for students and the community.

2022 Season: Market Managers & Substitutes
FRESHFARM is seeking lovers of local food to join our team as Farmers Market Managers! If you’re a creative and flexible problem solver who enjoys working on a team, spending time outdoors, and promoting regional, accessible, fresh food, this is the role for you. Market Managers are responsible for executing market operations, interfacing with stakeholders, and creating a vibrant and friendly market. If you’re interested in joining our team for the 2022 market season, we’ll be in need of Market Managers who can work as substitutes and/or consistently staff our various markets.

Pop Up Food Hub Operations Associate
The Pop Up Food Hub (PUFH) is the first (and only!) of its kind, offering hyper-local food access and distribution services by coordinating wholesale procurement from local farms for underserved buyers. Our team works closely with numerous community organizations that serve low-income families and individuals with a need for fresh fruits and vegetables. PUFH Operations Associates are responsible for supporting and implementing the daily operations of the PUFH and gain first-hand experience learning about DC’s local food system along the way. Come work with a collaborative, diverse, and welcoming team in a dynamic work environment with access to an abundance of local produce! Seeking candidates who are collaborative, communicative, adaptable, and detail-oriented.

Pop-Up Food Hub Community Delivery Driver
The Pop Up Food Hub (PUFH) is the first (and only!) of its kind, offering hyper-local food access and distribution services by coordinating wholesale procurement from local farms for underserved buyers. Using their personal vehicles, Community Delivery Drivers are responsible for fulfilling deliveries of PUFH produce bags — sourced from local farmers in DC, Maryland, and Virginia — and bringing fresh fruits and vegetables to our community partners and individual recipients. Come work with a collaborative, diverse, and welcoming team and gain first-hand experience learning about DC’s local food system along the way!  Seeking candidates who are reliable, communicative, responsible, expeditious, and successful at working independently.

Call Your Mother – Farmers Market Team Member
Call Your Mother is a neighborhood bagel shop and deli with locations in Park View, Capitol Hill, Bethesda, Georgetown, weekly farmers markets throughout the DMV, and new shops on the way. They’re looking for new team members with positive attitudes and an eagerness to learn. The Market Team interacts directly with CYM guests outside of our shops, making the first impression of their experience. Your friendly and positive attitude will ensure guests leave happier than when they arrived at farmers markets or mobile events. From accurately taking orders to handing off food to guests to keeping the stand clean, the team keeps the market buzzing – having fun while creating a great market experience for guests.
