FRESHFARM Positions

FRESHFARM Communications Manager
Are you a creative and agile communicator with experience in social media management, website management, and visual and written content creation and design? Apply to join the FRESHFARM team as our Communications Manager! You’ll join a collaborative, diverse, and welcoming team and gain daily exposure to all aspects of our regional food chain. The FRESHFARM Communications Manager works closely with the Director and Deputy Director of Communications to execute marketing and promotion efforts, draft newsletters and blog posts, manage social media and website content, and build partnerships with our farmers market communities.

FoodPrints Assistants (Internship or Work-Study Students)
Interested in growing your food education skills? FoodPrints is hiring garden assistants! Most of our interns and assistants will be supporting FoodPrints preschool – 5th grade food and garden education classes and get their hands dirty in our school gardens. Positions are open for the Fall Semester and the role can be extended through the Spring Semester (ending June 2022) if there is mutual interest. Please apply by September 10th. Note: federal work-study option is only available to AU and GW students.

FoodPrints Lead Teachers
Do you love being outdoors, cooking, and working with kids? If your answer is yes, then FoodPrints is for you! FoodPrints is FRESHFARM’s food education program that aims to make positive changes in what children and their families eat by giving them hands-on experiences with growing, harvesting, cooking, and eating nutritious, fresh, and seasonal local foods. We are hiring multiple part-time Lead Teachers and Bilingual Lead Teachers to join our dynamic and supportive teaching team this school year. Lead Teachers bring experience working with students in academic settings, in gardens, or other outdoor settings and strong classroom management skills to work in our partner schools teaching the FoodPrints curriculum.

Pop Up Food Hub Operations Associate
The Pop Up Food Hub (PUFH) is the first (and only!) of its kind, offering hyper-local food access and distribution services by coordinating wholesale procurement from local farms for underserved buyers. Our team works closely with numerous community organizations that serve low-income families and individuals with a need for fresh fruits and vegetables. PUFH Operations Associates are responsible for supporting and implementing the daily operations of the PUFH and gain first-hand experience learning about DC’s local food system along the way. Come work with a collaborative, diverse, and welcoming team in a dynamic work environment with access to an abundance of local produce! Seeking candidates who are collaborative, communicative, adaptable, and detail-oriented.

Pop-Up Food Hub Community Delivery Driver
The Pop Up Food Hub (PUFH) is the first (and only!) of its kind, offering hyper-local food access and distribution services by coordinating wholesale procurement from local farms for underserved buyers. Using their personal vehicles, Community Delivery Drivers are responsible for fulfilling deliveries of PUFH produce bags — sourced from local farmers in DC, Maryland, and Virginia — and bringing fresh fruits and vegetables to our community partners and individual recipients. Please note, these are NOT FRESHFARM positions; you would be hired directly by the vendor. Please direct all questions regarding these positions to the vendors themselves.

One Eight Distilling – Farmers Market Manager
One Eight Distilling is seeking an enthusiastic Farmers Market Manager to join their Retail & Sales Team for the Sunday FRESHFARM Dupont market. They produce District Made, a rye-forward, grain-to-glass line of spirits, and the Untitled Experimental series.

The Farmers Market Manager will bring a sales-driven attitude with the ability to work independently and reliably. The market is every Sunday from 8am – 1:30pm with set-up and break down time before and after. The ideal candidate must have a strong work ethic, clear communication skills, good energy, an outgoing attitude, and previous experience serving alcohol responsibly. They also require a clean driver’s license in addition to passing a background check. TIPS Certification or ABRA Manager’s License is a plus!
