Office Manager

Are you an organized and proactive problem solver who is excited to support our diverse and growing team? Apply to be FRESHFARM’s Office Manager! This role is responsible for managing the FRESHFARM office, insurance policies, and internal operations systems, while also supporting new hire onboarding and executing key weekly finance tasks. As a member of the Finance & Admin team, they will develop vibrant relationships with coworkers across our many teams while supporting critical organizational functions. Farm Stand Manager (Saturdays at THEARC)

Are you connected with communities East of the River in DC? Are you passionate about facilitating access to local, nutritious fruits and vegetables? Apply to be a Manager at FRESHFARM’s newest Farm Stand, happening on Saturdays at THEARC, located in Ward 8. Our Farm Stands are small outdoor markets that serve as points of access for fresh, healthy produce for local communities. Managers are responsible for creating a vibrant and friendly customer experience while handling Farm Stand operations – such as supporting customers, administering transactions, and setting up and breaking down tents, tables, signage, and technology. The ideal Manager is someone from the local community who can provide food access services that effectively meet residents’ needs. No resume or cover letter is needed to apply!

Bilingual Market Champion (Spanish, Mandarin, or Cantonese)

Are you an active DC community member passionate about food access? Do you speak Spanish, Mandarin, or Cantonese? Join our team as a Bilingual Market Champion! Champions create a welcoming environment at markets for participants of the Produce Plus and Senior FMNP benefits programs – two food access programs currently administered by FRESHFARM that allow DC residents with limited access to fresh, nutritious food to purchase locally grown fruits & vegetables from farmers markets. Market Champions also support program enrollment, provide information and programmatic updates, and ensure that community feedback about the programs is heard. As this role is Bilingual, these Champions will provide this support in English and another language (Spanish and/or Chinese – Mandarin or Cantonese) in which they are fluent. Applicants should be excited to engage directly with customers at various community sites across the District.

Food Access Translators (Contractors or Volunteers)

Are you a local food fan who is fluent in Farsi and/or Arabic? Help FRESHFARM facilitate food access and community building at farmers markets by increasing accessibility through translation! We are seeking project-based contractors or volunteers excited about remote or in-person translation or interpretation opportunities to support our program and its participants. This is a great opportunity to build vibrant relationships with staff, vendors, customers, and other local community members from all walks of life.

PUFH Community Delivery Drivers (part-time; Hyattsville, MD)

Looking for a small job with a big impact? Apply to join our Pop-Up Food Hub (PUFH) team as a Community Delivery Driver (CDD) this season! FRESHFARM is seeking one CDD on Thursday afternoons to help distribute fresh produce. Our nonprofit food hub functions as a food distributor, supporting small- and mid-sized local farmers while serving community members, especially low-income families and individuals with a need for fresh fruits and vegetables. Farmers Market Staff & Substitutes (Northern Virginia)

FRESHFARM is seeking lovers of local food to join our team as Farmers Market Staff or Substitutes! If you’re a creative and flexible problem solver who enjoys working on a team, spending time outdoors, and promoting regional, accessible, fresh food – this is the role for you. Market Staff are responsible for executing market operations, interfacing with stakeholders, and creating a vibrant and friendly market. Our team is currently seeking Market Staff on Saturdays at our Arlington market for the 2024 Main Season, as well as Substitutes who can support our markets on Thursday and/or weekends in Fairfax County, VA.

FoodCorps Service Member – FoodPrints

FoodCorps partners with schools and communities to nourish kids’ health, education, and sense of belonging. Their AmeriCorps members serve alongside educators and school nutrition leaders to provide kids with nourishing meals, food education, and culturally affirming experiences with food that celebrate and nurture the whole child. As a FoodCorps placement site, FRESHFARM’s FoodPrints is searching for aspiring food educators who, through mentorship, in-school experience, and professional development, want to further their careers in food education. For the 2024-2025 school year, FoodPrints is hiring two Service Members who will each support programming on-site at 1-2 of FoodPrints’ partner schools. Successful candidates will have experience working with youth, are comfortable working as part of a team, and are motivated, responsible, and passionate about cooking and gardening. We also aspire to find service members who have ties to the communities we serve, including the DC community and those impacted by food insecurity.

FoodPrints Classroom Assistants will support preschool – 5th grade food and garden education classes during Spring Semester 2024. Farmers Market Employment Positions

Our farmers and producers frequently share job openings with us. The following market farmers and producers currently have positions available. Please note, these are NOT FRESHFARM positions; you would be hired directly by the vendor. Please direct all questions regarding these positions to the vendors themselves.

Kesh & Fresh: Farmers Market Sales Associate 

Kesh & Fresh is seeking a dynamic Sales Associate to join their team at the farmers market,
showcasing the rich flavors of Moroccan sauces and spreads! If you’re passionate about exotic cuisines, enjoy engaging with customers, and thrive in a lively environment, they want to hear from you. Responsibilities include arriving at least half an hour before the market starts; setting up and organizing the stand efficiently, featuring a diverse range of Moroccan sauces and spreads; breaking down and cleaning up after market hours; welcoming customers and enticing them to experience the unique taste of Moroccan products through sampling; and providing assistance to customers, including processing credit card transactions. Applicants must have excellent customer service skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and be reliable and punctual. Previous sales or customer service experience is a plus. Market locations are DC, Arlington/Alexandria, and Mosaic District. Schedule is Saturdays and Sundays, 8am to 12pm or 9am to 1pm. Pay is $20 per hour.
