Grain Stand Specialist

Grain Stand Specialists are the face of FRESHFARM’s Grains program and serve as an ambassador for local farmers, millers, and other local producers at the market; they will actively engage with customers including promoting the products and facilitating sales. Furthermore, they will educate visitors about regional grains and the grain producers. All roles start and end in Hyattsville, MD; we are currently hiring for the Dupont Circle (Sunday) market.

Successful candidates will be excited to work outdoors at a local Farmers’ Market and to support local producers, interested in learning about the regional grain shed and leveraging any grain experience they have, and passionate about creating inclusive spaces for the community to enjoy and access local food and support regional farmers and food producers.

FoodPrints Bilingual Lead Teacher

FoodPrints Lead Teachers are responsible for leading engaging FoodPrints programming at at least one of our partner schools, including classroom management, lesson planning, and program implementation utilizing FoodPrints’ grow-cook-eat-learn model in school classrooms, gardens, and teaching kitchens. This role also entails some administrative work to prepare for classes and maintain documentation. Teachers are each supervised by an Instructional Coach and are active members of a collaborative team working across the city in FoodPrints partner schools.

Successful candidates will be experienced teachers with an ability to work with students in an academic setting & utilize and adapt curricular materials for student and class needs and will have worked in garden and/or food education-related fields, including environmental education, place-based education, science, or outdoor learning. Professional fluency in Spanish and English is required for this role.

FoodPrints School Based Farm Stand Assistant (Fall 2026 Internships)

Looking for an opportunity to learn about the local food system? Excited about food education, food access, and local agriculture? Apply for an internship with FRESHFARM! Our School Based Farm Stand Assistants will work at least twice a month at one of our School-Based Farm Stands. At the farm stands, they will engage with customers at the Farm Stand about the produce, samples, and other recipe ideas, and support all aspects of the program. This internship runs from mid-August until late November.

FoodPrints Classroom Assistant (Fall 2026 and/or Spring 2027 Semester)

Interested in growing your food education skills? FoodPrints is looking for interns, volunteers, and/or Federal Work Study students to join our program as Classroom Assistants! FoodPrints Classroom Assistants work directly with FoodPrints Lead Teachers to facilitate preschool – 5th grade classes that provide hands-on experiences for local students to grow, harvest, cook, and eat nutritious, fresh, local, and seasonal food. We are currently seeking Classroom Assistants to support the work of the FoodPrints program at one or more partner schools in Washington, DC during the 2026-27 school year. La Caldería – Health Ambassador

La Caldería is seeking energetic and outgoing health ambassadors to join their farmers market team for weekend markets across Northern Virginia and Washington, DC. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys connecting with people, being outdoors, and sharing wellness-focused products in a community-driven environment. Responsibilities include setting up and breaking down the booth, offering samples, educating customers about our freeze-dried bone broth products, handling sales transactions, and maintaining a welcoming presence at the markets. Compensation includes market-day pay, sales bonuses, and tips, along with a free bag of dog treats to take home. Saturday and Sunday markets available. Applicants must have reliable transportation and a reliable transportation to travel to and from the markets.
