Virginia’s Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (VSFMNP), also known as Farm Market Fresh, provides a one-time benefit of $50 in vouchers to approved participants. These vouchers can be spent at participating farmers markets to purchase fresh fruits, vegetables, and cut herbs from June through November 2024.
This program is funded by Virginia’s Office for Aging Services and administered by FRESHFARM.
Who Can Apply
Anyone who fits the below criteria can apply:
- You live in Loudoun or Fairfax County.*
- You are 60 years of age or older.
- Your monthly income is at or less than $2,322 (for one person in a household) or $3,152 (for two people sharing a household). This does not include income of your adult children.
- You have a mailing address.
*Remember, only submit one application and do it using the form for the County in which you live! Loudoun County residents must complete the Loudoun application whereas Fairfax County residents must complete the Fairfax application.

What Happens Next
A complete application must be submitted before September 30, 2024. All applications will be reviewed for eligibility. Voucher booklets are limited and distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Staff will contact you to let you know whether you’re approved, ineligible, or if the program has hit its maximum capacity. Starting in June, voucher booklets for approved participants will be mailed within 10-15 days of your approval.
Using the Vouchers
Once approved, each participant will receive a voucher booklet. For a one person household, participants will receive a booklet with ten (10) $5 vouchers for a total of $50 in vouchers. For a two person household, you’ll receive two booklets with ten (10) $5 vouchers for each person, for a total of $50 in vouchers for each person
Then you can spend your vouchers with participating farmers at local farmers markets! These vouchers can be spent at farmers markets in any Virginia county regardless of where you live. Check out our SFMNP Locations for more information.
