To ensure the sustainability of our services, FRESHFARM is making changes to the FreshMatch program for the 2024 main season.

Learn about FreshMatch policy changes

We believe that anyone using federal nutrition benefits at market should be able to take home more high-quality local foods from the farmers market and be empowered to choose the products that they desire. FRESHFARM increases access to local, fresh fruits and vegetables through FreshMatch.

Double The Purchasing Power

All FRESHFARM markets and farmers accept SNAP/EBT, WIC, and Senior FMNP checks. Our FreshMatch program provides a dollar-for-dollar match on all federal benefits spent at market, helping shoppers take home more fresh and nutritious produce while creating and sustaining new revenue streams for local farmers and food producers.

How To Use FreshMatch

Growing Access Across The Region

We work with partners across the region so that individuals and families all across the DMV can meaningfully enjoy local foods, meet their farmers, and connect with their neighbors each week at the farmers market. In 2021, FRESHFARM received a $1.4 million USDA grant to expand food access in Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia.

2023 Coupon Buy-Back

Are you a shopper that uses nutrition benefits and FreshMatch incentives at market? If you have a stash of coupons that expired in 2023, bring them to the market information tent at any FRESHFARM market to exchange them for 2024 coupons in equal dollar value.

There will also be an opportunity to exchange 2023 coupons at our markets reopening in the Spring during the first month of operations.
