Effective October 1, 2024, WIC and Senior FMNP matching will end for the season due to limited funding. This change allows FRESHFARM to responsibly manage our resources and ensure the sustainability of our food access programming.

We believe that anyone using federal nutrition benefits at market should be able to take home more high-quality local foods from the farmers market and be empowered to choose the products that they desire. FRESHFARM increases access to local, fresh fruits and vegetables through FreshMatch.

Double The Purchasing Power

All FRESHFARM markets and farmers accept SNAP/EBT, WIC, and Senior FMNP checks. Our FreshMatch program provides a dollar-for-dollar match on all federal benefits spent at market, helping shoppers take home more fresh and nutritious produce while creating and sustaining new revenue streams for local farmers and food producers, while annual funding lasts.

Growing Access Across The Region

We work with partners across the region so that individuals and families all across the DMV can meaningfully enjoy local foods, meet their farmers, and connect with their neighbors each week at the farmers market. In 2021, FRESHFARM received a $1.4 million USDA grant to expand food access in Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia.
