We believe that anyone using federal nutrition benefits at market should have full agency of what high-quality local foods they can take home from the farmers market and be empowered to choose the products that they desire. FRESHFARM increases access to local, fresh fruits and vegetables and other agricultural products through Fresh Match.

Double The Purchasing Power

All FRESHFARM markets and farmers accept SNAP/EBT, WIC, and Senior FMNP checks. Our Fresh Match program provides a dollar-for-dollar match on all federal benefits spent at market, helping shoppers take home more fresh and nutritious produce and local foods while creating and sustaining new revenue streams for local farmers and food producers.

Growing Access Across The Region

We work with partners across the region so that individuals and families all across the DMV can meaningfully enjoy local foods, meet their farmers, and connect with their neighbors each week at the farmers market. In 2021, FRESHFARM received a $1.4 million USDA grant to expand food access in Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia.
