Blue Ridge Dairy was founded in 1999 after Paul visited Italy and was inspired to make artisanal mozzarella in the US. Upon his return, he and his wife Alison promptly purchased their 10 acre farm in Lovettsville, Virginia with no farming experience whatsoever! While they no longer have the farm, in 2000 they began selling at farmers markets in the region, and the operation has grown extensively over time. Blue Ridge Dairy is now located in Sterling, Virginia, specializing in artisanal cheeses and yogurt.
