Skip & Cancellation Policy
For customers paying with credit/debit
If you need to skip a week of your Market Share, please let us know ONE WEEK before the pick-up date in question. To request a SKIP, email marketshare@freshfarm.org. Be sure to include your name and the dates you want to skip. You can skip as far in advance as you like.
To CANCEL your Market Share, please let us know ONE WEEK before the pick-up date in question. To request a subscription cancellation, email marketshare@freshfarm.org. Be sure to include your name.
For customers paying with SNAP
Because customers paying with SNAP cannot be charged in advance, you will receive a weekly text asking you to RSVP for your share at your chosen pickup location by a certain time — usually ~4 days in advance of your pickup day (for ex: Wednesday customers must RSVP by 5PM on Friday). We place orders with farmers and pack bags based on how many people RSVP via text. If you do not RSVP, we cannot guarantee we will have a bag for you at the market.
Payments
With credit/debit
Retail Payments are processed weekly, so there are no upfront payments. When you sign up you will be asked to enter credit card information. You will not be charged for weeks that you skip your subscription.
With SNAP
We offer the Market Share at a discounted price for anyone who receives SNAP. If you want to purchase the Market Share using SNAP, please fill out the relevant form on the signup page to specify that you would like to pay with these benefits. We cannot accept eWIC.
To receive the SNAP rate, payments must be made with SNAP only, at market. SNAP customers will not and cannot be charged online, and cannot use credit cards, cash, or purple, white or yellow coupons to pay for their shares.
We understand that folks often run out of their SNAP dollars towards the end of the month, or have unexpected costs arise. To be flexible to those realities, SNAP customers may carry up to a $24 negative balance (or the cost of 4 personal shares or 3 family shares). Customers may also pay what they can towards their balance.
What happens if I forget to pick up my Market Share?
If you don’t show up to pick up your Market Share, you will still be charged full price. We ask that you place any necessary holds on your subscription one week in advance, so that our farmers and our team can plan accordingly. If you contact us about a hold less than one week in advance, we will not be able to refund you for your Market Share, since we have already placed an order with our farmers.
Can someone else pick up my Market Share?
You are welcome and encouraged to have a friend, family member, or neighbor pick up your Market Share on your behalf as an alternative to skipping a pick-up.
Communication
As a Market Share subscriber, you will receive weekly emails that include a list of items in the bag, information about FRESHFARM and our local food system, recipes, and more.
Your bags will also include a QR code that links to even more activities, recipes, and other resources on our website featuring the items in your bag.
We love hearing feedback. You can submit feedback to this form, or email marketshare@freshfarm.org.
What kinds of items can I expect in my share?
For the number of items and descriptions of the Family and Personal Share, please refer to our Market Share page.
The produce in your Share will fluctuate week to week and is based on what is in season. Click here to see what types of produce you can expect during each month of the season. Though it is not guaranteed, you will likely receive many of the items listed under “Good Supply” multiple times, and “Limited Availability” and “Specialty Items” often, though less frequently.
Weather Policy
We operate rain or shine! We do not close down due to weather conditions unless dangerous conditions are predicted. In the event that we are forced to close, we will communicate in advance via email and/or text to Market Share members.
Social Impact
The Social Impact subscription comes in $5 increments that you will be charged for each week in addition to your Market Share. We want to give Market Share members the opportunity to have an even greater impact on the local food system, if they are able. Social Impact funds directly contribute to FRESHFARM’s ability to provide Market Shares at a significant discount to customers that are often excluded from retail opportunities for fresh, locally produced food. In addition to the SNAP and WIC options available at the market, we partner with dozens of community organizations to make the Market Share available in convenient community spaces.
I have questions!
