Carol Carrier is the owner of Plant Masters, a second generation flower farm in the Agriculture Reserve of Montgomery and Howard counties in Maryland. Carol and her husband, who holds a horticulture degree, grow fresh cut flowers and plants for local farmers markets, as well as supply event and wedding designers in the Baltimore/Washington area. The farm is passionate about educating others on the benefits of buying locally grown flowers, reminding us that “when you buy locally grown, you help support family business and you help yourself maintain the local tax base that helps provide the services like fire, rescue, police and schools we all take for granted. When you buy locally grown flowers and plants you are getting the freshest floral products that reflect the area we live in. When you buy American grown flowers you are helping revive an industry that was largely given away to South America.” Fun fact: in 2019 alone, Plant Masters grew over 40,000 dahlia plants!
