A Fresh Layout for FRESHFARM Dupont Circle Market

May 19, 2026

Why We’re Making Changes

Starting May 24th, you’ll notice some changes to the layout of the FRESHFARM Dupont Circle Market. These updates will expand fire lanes, create more room for pedestrian traffic, and meet the needs of the evolving neighborhood. We know the market is part of many people’s weekly routines and that change can be hard! But sometimes a small shift in routine leads to discovering a new favorite farmer, trying a product you’ve never noticed before, or exploring a different corner of the market community. As always, our market team will be on site at the orange info tent to help you find anything you’re looking for.

What’s Changing

  • To expand the fire lane on 20th Street NW (between Massachusetts Ave NW and Hillyer Place NW), there will no longer be farmer vehicle parking on 20th Street. This also means the most crowded corridor in the market will have more room for pedestrian foot traffic, hanging out, and shopping.
  • In order to make room for some farmers to continue to have close access to their vehicles, we are making minimal changes to vendor locations in the market. A total of eight farmers and producers are moving. To accommodate sufficient parking for farm vehicles, we are closing all six lanes of traffic on Massachusetts Ave NW.
  • A fresh layout to Dupont Circle includes closing Q Street NW making a safer passageway for shoppers. We will also be closing Q Street NW (between 20th Street and Connecticut Avenue). This will give us more space to safely accommodate farmers, producers, and their vehicles, and customers will no longer have to navigate an active roadway.

Thank You for Growing With Us

The Dupont Circle market has always reflected the energy and evolution of the neighborhood around it, and our priority remains creating a vibrant, welcoming space where farmers, producers, and shoppers can continue to connect every week while supporting a strong local food system. Making changes to a market with 80+ farmers and producers and thousands of customers is no small undertaking, and we appreciate the community’s flexibility and support as we activate this new layout. There will be extra staff on site in the coming weeks to help shoppers find relocated farmers and producers — and we hope everyone enjoys having a little more room to shop and mingle.
