Celery
Description
Celery comes in bunches of long, thick, pale green stalks with thin leaves at the end. Celery is a common aromatic ingredient, along with onion and carrots, that enhance the flavor when cooked into dishes. It is also a great addition to stocks or a an easy snack eaten raw.
How to Prep
Thoroughly wash each rib and trim the leaves and the base.
RAW: Dice and add to salads, or slice into short strips to snack on.
COOK: Add to soups and stews, as well as savory baked dishes.
SAUTÉ: Heat cooking oil in a pan over medium heat and carefully add celery, along with other diced aromatic vegetables, like onions and garlic, or with diced carrot.
Storage
Refrigerate in a plastic bag or reusable storage container for up to 2 weeks with the ribs attached to the stalk.
