Summer Meals at Columbia Heights
Free Summer Meals are available for children aged 1 to 18 years old at the FRESHFARM Columbia Heights Farmers Markets on Wednesdays and Saturdays from July 1st through August 16th, 2023.
- Lunch meals are provided on Saturdays from 9am to 12pm.
- Supper meals are provided on Wednesdays from 4pm to 7pm.
For pick up, children and their families should visit the Info Tent at the market and request their meal. A market staff person will hand over the meal, and that’s it! No ID or proof of residency is required.

CentroNía & FRESHFARM are hiring a Farmers Market Volunteer to join us at the Columbia Heights Farmers Market from July 1st through August 19th, Wednesdays from 3:30pm to 6:30pm, and Saturdays from 9:30am to 12:30pm. As a Market Volunteer, you will work with the FRESHFARM Team to provide support for CentroNía’s Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) at the Columbia Heights Market. A stipend of $100 per week will be provided.

When school lets out for the summer, children across the region are at higher risk of experiencing food insecurity, having lost access to meals and snacks provided by their educational institution. Together, FRESHFARM and CentroNía seek to bridge that gap and improve food access for children in Ward 1.
